Anything with moving parts will eventually go wrong, especially cd players. Lasers do wear and go out of alignment, mechanisms wear and many units suffer from dry joints in later years. On most occasions a full service will remedy all these faults and prevention is always cheaper than cure. Ask about your player and what a service would entail.

How to improve the sound quality of your hi-fi

Mains cables
